Our Festival Summer with Teva

If there is one thing we like even more than fashion in the Ghentstreets crew, it is a nice tune to dance to. That’s why we love to visit some great festivals this summer. You can find our report on Best Kept Secret festival here, but that’s not all we have planned for this summer.

The second festival we will be exploring this year is Dour: a true classic in the Belgian festival scene, but definitely a more alternative one AND a first for Gladys and myself. The line-up is very promising with a great mix of established and well-known artists and a lot of younger bands and DJ’s to discover.

Our inner fashionista couldn’t help planning our festival wardrobe beforehand. The most difficult thing about this is finding the right shoes. According to the weather channel, we have to prepare for warm weather but with some chance of rain. On a festival, we all know what this means: mud pools all over the place. That’s why we are bringing the ultimate Festival shoe with us: Teva.

Gladys and I wanted to share already some outfits with you that we had in mind. Maybe they can help you inspire your festival wardrobe!

Look 1 : Mesh it up

Gladys has a minimalistic style but loves a touch of humor in it. In this look, she keeps things clean with a black playsuit and a mesh sweater, but adds a pop of color with white Teva sandals and matching white nailpolish. Don’t worry about the white shoes. Teva’s are waterproof, so in case they are dirty, you can just throw them in the washing machine and they will be like new again. The finishing touch is the pair of Lolita-inspired heart-shaped reflector sunglasses. Perfect outfit to dance in from day to night!

 Look 2: Nineties Class

When I spotted this limited edition pair of Teva’s, created in collaboration with Nastygal, I immediately fell in love. It is definitely a ‘love it’ or ‘hate it’ piece, but to me it just brings out my inner Spicegirl. On top of this, a flatform on a festival is very handy. First of all: they make you 10cm bigger which means a better view over the crowd. Second: if there is a mud pool, I can just walk over it, without dirty feet. And last but not least: they are comfortable as hell! Of course I like to keep it classy, that’s why I am planning to wear it with a classic piece like this trench dress.

Look 3: Vintage florals

Perfect on a hot day, is a light cover up to protect your skin against the sun. Of course it is not only practical, but very stylish as well. Gladys scored this gorgeous shirt-dress in a vintage shop. The bright yellow sunflowers really add a funny touch to a minimal black look. Just like me, Gladys fell for the Teva flatforms but opted for the minimal black ones. They truly go with anything!
